They voted for or against some law proposals. This debate lasted 40 minutes and it was filmed. Weather charts were made and compared with the other countries. Skyping with Iceland was a great event for the students. Poland finished the work with the multilingual dictionary containing 59 words/phrases. Each country got 10 dictionaries. Great job!
- GREECE: 5th class created a questionnaire on different house constructions, energy use and how they can save electricity and do recycling. They made statistics on materials, heating, recycling, supply of water nad how they lighten up their homes. They measured the weather and sent to the other countries. They didn’t have a debate where they played different government officials. They thought it would too difficult for the 4th grade. Instead they worked on recycling of garbage. They made musical instruments of recycled garbage (bottles, boxes etc.) and had a performance where they used these.
- ESTONIA: The website is updated and dropbox is OK. Some students had a play. They played different animals who were discussing ideas about energy saving. These ideas were accepted or declined. This was video typed.

Students sew the Icelandic flag to give to the students in Norway. An architect came to school to talk about building construction of houses on Iceland – how they used to build houses and how they do it today. He also talked about how the houses can be improved to be environmentally friendly. The students made houses from cardboard boxes. The students made histograms about the use of energy in their homes. These were put on the walls so the students could compare. 8th grade have filmed a debate with governmental officials discussing different law proposals on energy production.
- NORWAY: 1st – 4th grade have worked with measuring the weather. 4th grade has worked with the dictionary. They made posters of this and of how we can save energy. 7th grade arranged debate in their classroom. They discussed some of the ideas about energy saving in their homes. They talked about different law proposals. 5th – 7th grade made drawings with different ideas on how to save energy in their homes.

Project meeting: We had a discussion on how the models of the SMArt houses could be built: The way they are built in the actual country, or should it be the “dream house”? In which size should we build them? Shall we see inside the houses? Elements from the culture in the country. Make a couple of houses that you can see inside, but rest of the houses in the neighbourhood can be “closed”? Materials that can be used: Cardboard boxes, wood, clay, recycled materials. Create a neighbourhood in each country. Each country will take pictures and videos of the process and the result. Lina from Italy will make a catalogue – printed and digital. Materials and a description of the work shall be sent to her. Deadline 1st of May.
The description of the process should contain: Materials. Design. Energy saving. Recycling of waste. Why is it an environmentally friendly house. Why is it a “green” home?
Make a big model of a house - a dollhouse with no front to show the inside. This shall be a “green dream house”. Then six small models will be made, five of them to take to Greece in June, and one to keep. In this way all the countries can have a neighbourhood with houses from all six countries.

We make a description and take photos of the model house so it is possible for the pupils in the other countries to build small models of the house. Deadline is May 1st.
The small models: The size should be 20-30 cm X 20-30 cm. We choose materials ourselves. It’s possible to make a model made of cardboard to look like a wooden or a brick house.
